News & Activity Team Development Plan As four churches we are in the process of changing our legal structure to help us to do better what we are called to and to help us travel more lightly with our legal structures.  You can see here the document that we are following. Activites we have taken part in together as churches over the past three years that are important to us: Easter Story Trail – a mission held over two weeks in 2009, that involved 1500 children from 12 local schools where the story of Easter was told among dramatic ‘scene sets’ that filled one of our churches. Cre8 Project – a community development initiative based in two houses on a local authority council estate that is following the Northumbrian model of mission. Open the Book - a programme of themed and dramatised Bible stories that are taken into local schools. Messy Church -  a new midweek congregation set up in our church on the council estate Stomp & Holiday Clubs – Saturday and Summer clubs for children. Bereavement Team – which has recently started up an annual memorial service. Open Door Coffee – a coffee shop that is open six mornings a week in the town centre church. Healing Services – held monthly and led by a dedicated group of people. Story-telling Service – a new Sunday congregation built on the principles of Godly Play that has grown rapidly in three years. Contemplative Prayer Sessions – half-hour times of silence are held twice weekly, and a Sunday evening discussion group held monthly. Prayer Room – a side chapel that has resources placed in it by people from several local churches to assist people with intercessory prayer. Public Seminars – being held on global issues by leading experts. TV Exhibition – using TV screens to help draw visitors to one of churches into thinking about the issues of faith and spirituality. Climate Change Group – recently established to raise awareness about global warming issues.
